10 tips to treat yourself at home on a perfect spa date
A Spa Date at home brings up so many possible ideas and ways to treat yourself at home.
There are days when you want to spend time together with your partner, but both of you are exhausted and too lazy to go out and do something that requires a lot of energy. Having a spa date at home can help you de-stress and relax with your significant other, whilst spending quality time together. This is your way to have a break from the crazy world and focus on yourselves and each other. But where to start? We created 10 tips to treat yourself at home for a spa date so you don’t even have to worry about coming up with ideas.
1. Switch your mind to relaxation mode
Setting the mood is the perfect first step to create the intention to relax. By starting up with preparing physically for the day you slowly tell your brain to switch into the state of relaxation. Take out your cosy bathrobe, the fluffy slippers and some super comfortable clothes and let’s get started.
2. Move your body
Take a few light stretches or do a couple’s yoga video together with your partner. Of course if you are not up for any activity for the day, you can skip this step. But if you are the type of person who enjoys the treat after you feel like you achieved something - it is a great idea to get a light exercise and release some endorphins.
3. Soak in the tub or take a shower together
Having a soak in the tub or taking a shower together is an amazing way to spend some intimate times together - especially after your light exercise. Spending some quality time together in the hot tub allows you to focus only on each other. You can make it a little extra with some bath-bombs and aromatic scents.
4. Give each other massages
Massages are a perfect way to relax and bring you closer together. Try to learn some basic skills from Youtube to become better at giving massages. Your partner for sure will appreciate it. Furthermore, to make the massage session more enjoyable try purchasing some massage oil beforehand, set some relaxing music in the background, dim the lights and light some scented candles.
5. Focus on your face
No at home spa dates are complete without a face mask. You can decide to purchase some nourishing and hydrating face masks at the store, or you can just prepare yours at home. There are many online recipes you can choose from, depending on your skin type. You may decide on an exfoliating, hydrating or a calming mask.
6. Give some love for your hair
To further pamper yourself, get yourself a hair mask and some hair oil. By having your partner massage the products into your scalp and hair you can share this intimate time together. You can browse the internet for some great DIY hair mask options, or you can decide to buy a premade one, to save time. The end goal is to have some luscious looking hair.
7. Order some food
Since today is all about treating yourself and not working unless necessary we advise you to order some take away food. This is your time to pick something you always crave, but you never order it because you find it expensive or unhealthy. Luckily, it doesn’t matter today! It is all about you - and treating yourself
8. Prepare some snacks
You can prepare some snacks before your spa date. You can decide whether you want to go for the full spa feeling and prepare some healthier snacks like carrots or cucumbers or really enjoy yourself and buy some crackers and chocolate. You can even go with something in between and get some chocolate covered strawberries.
9. Get some drinks
Depending on your taste you can get some cucumber, ginger or lemon infused water - to get the spa feeling right at home. You can also decide on some green tea or mint to get the most relaxing experience. However, if you fancy some wine, go for it! It is all about treating yourself at home today!
10. Create a designated relax-space
The last step on your list is to create a designated relaxing space for you and your partner. Set up the bed or your couch with some fluffy pillows and blankets. You can decide whether you want to read, talk, sleep or listen to the relaxing music in the background. By the end of the day you will definitely feel de-stressed and in harmony with your partner.
